Paul Goodison is one of Great Britain's most prominent Laser sailors with a host of international accolades to his name, including European Championship titles and the number one spot in the ISAF world rankings. Goodison started sailing at the age of 4 and has been competing in the Laser Standard since 1994. Training partner to Ben Ainslie in the lead up to the 2000 Sydney Olympics, Goodison finally earned his spot with Team GB for the 2004 Athens Olympics Games where he finished in heartbreaking fourth place. But Goodison was not held back and immediately reinstated his quest for an Olympic medal and began his campaign for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

Sailing a Laser is thought by many to be one of the purest forms of sailing. The simple set up and the option of three rigs, Standard, 4.7 and Radial makes it a great way to get out on the water whatever your shape, size or skill. As a one design class it makes for tight racing its the best sailor who wins and not the person with the most expensive equipment.
Written by Paul Goodison one of the most succesful Laser sailors of all time and with colour illustrations by Pete Galvin RYA Laser Handbook is the definitive guide for all Laser sailors. The book covers everything from choosing which Laser is best for you, what to look for in a second hand boat, equipment, control lines, sailing techniques, race planning and training.

"The content of this specialist book could not be better. It is very comprehensive and logical although assumes the reader has a level two knowledge, which is not unreasonable as there are a plethora of books which deal with the basics... All Laser sailors should get a copy of this book to fully understand this dinghy." - Royal Naval Sailing Association, summer 2008
